After a 12 year carrer in England, Lee Butler arrived on a free transfer from Wigan Athletic during the summer of 1998. Initially signed as cover for Ian Westwater, Lee became first choice keeper, with Westwater's injury in the first game of the season. Lee had an excellent season last year, but a dispute with the club over the terms of his contract, led to him putting in a transfer request during the summer. Despite playing in some of the pre-season games, Lee has not started a competitive first-team match this year.

Lee has recently withdrawn his transfer request.
